Chiang Rai is one of the border provinces of Chiang Mai, located 3 hours away. It is one of the remarkable sites in Thailand where the visitors always put on their travel lists. Not only the beautiful picturesque of the landscapes of the hilly area, but also the mixed cultures of the people of its own. As the province located near the border line of Thailand, Myanmar, Laos or even continue to China by the big dragon the flows from the long distant between the 3 countries called “Mae Khong Gigantic River. This becomes the main reason that you could see more varieties of people, traditions and culture. Travel to Chiang Rai is very convenient by car or by flight from Bangkok. if there is a time allowed, we would suggest you to travel by car as you could see and learn some new things on the way. The trip could be started from Chiang Mai or Bangkok. If you start the trip from Bangkok you could fly to Chiang Rai Airport and start the trip from there and end you trip in Chiang Mai or in the other way round, from Bangkok, fly to Chiang Mai and continue the trip from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai. We could say that there are many different choices for you. Chiang Rai has many famous sites such as The Whit temple or Silver temple, Black museum, Blue temple, Red Temple, The King’s Mother Palace (Doi Tung Palace) as well as the Golden Triangle and more that still await for you to visit.
The best way, we would like to suggest you to start from Bangkok and continue by car and end you trip in Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai to fly back to Bangkok or continue your journey to Laos. This because from Bangkok to Chiang Mai or to Chiang Rai, there are many interesting places for you to see and to learn. We do suggest at least 5 days up t0 15 days to cover the famous sites which depending on your time allowed.
