The Buddha image was built in bronze with almost 2 meters in width at the base and 2.10 meters in height. The Buddha was built in 1357AD by the king at that time. It is in Sukhothai style in bronze and was covered with the gold in 1603 AD by King Akatossarot, the 19th King of Sukhothai Kingdom. So that we could see the Buddha in gold as present. Decorated with the Thai style arch of Naga ( The king of the serpents) and the 2 giant guardians at the base. This place always has many people visit and worship both Thais and foreigners. This temple is on the way from Bangkok to Chiang Mai or from Chiang Mai to Bangkok which way you should stop by. In the temple itself not only “Phra Buddha Chinnaraj, but also some other buddha images as well as the Prang, the pagoda of the temple which is very beautiful for you to take photos.
The temple opens daily from 6:30am -6.00pm.for the public. As usual, visiting the temple, you have to dress properly to show respect to the Buddha as well as the places.
