Doi Inthanon National Park & Pha Dork Siew Waterfall

From Thailand’s Highest Peak to a Hidden Waterfall and a Cup of Mountain Coffee
Imagine escaping the busy streets of Chiang Mai and traveling high into the mountains, where the air becomes cooler, the forests become greener, and the sound of nature surrounds you.
This is the experience waiting for you at Doi Inthanon National Park, home to the highest peak in Thailand at 2,565 meters above sea level.
From the Highest Point to the Heart of the Forest
Our journey begins in the morning as we travel from Chiang Mai toward Doi Inthanon. As we climb higher into the mountains, the scenery changes from the city to beautiful green forests and mountain landscapes.
Our first stop is the highest point of Thailand. Take a deep breath, enjoy the cool mountain air, and experience the feeling of standing on the “roof of Thailand.”
We then explore the peaceful Ang Ka Nature Trail, where moss-covered trees, plants, birds, and fresh mountain air create a completely different atmosphere from the busy city below.
Next, visit the beautiful Twin Pagodas, surrounded by colorful gardens and mountain views. These pagodas were built in honor of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit and are among the most recognizable landmarks of Doi Inthanon.
Discover Local Life in the Mountains
After visiting the pagodas, we stop at a local Hmong hill-tribe market, where you can see fresh vegetables, fruits, and other products grown by local communities.
After lunch, the adventure continues.
Instead of simply driving to a waterfall, you will walk through the forest with a local Karen guide. The trail takes you through beautiful pine forests and lush mountain scenery until you reach the peaceful Pha Dork Siew Waterfall.
Take a moment to relax, enjoy the waterfall, take photographs, and cool yourself in the refreshing mountain water when conditions allow.
Walk Through Rice Fields and Coffee Plantations
The journey doesn’t end at the waterfall.
Continue walking toward a Karen village through beautiful rice terraces and coffee plantations. Here, you can see how local communities live and work in harmony with the mountain environment.
Before leaving the village, enjoy a cup of fresh Arabica coffee grown by the local Karen community.
There is something special about drinking coffee in the very place where it was grown—surrounded by mountains, forests, and the people who cultivate it.
End the Day with a Powerful Waterfall
Our final stop is Wachirathan Waterfall, one of the most impressive waterfalls in Doi Inthanon National Park.
Feel the refreshing mist as powerful water crashes down the rocks, take your final photos, and enjoy the natural beauty before we return to Chiang Mai.
